Hi, I'm LISA RUSSELL!
I'm an Asian American filmmaker who transitioned from a life of struggle to literally creating my dream job - on my own terms.
As a creative who was the first person in my family to go to college, I was told being an artist wasn't a "real job" and struggled to find my place in the world.
That is, until I discovered that storytelling and social change went hand in hand and I launched my career as a self-taught filmmaker almost 20 years ago get contract after contract with the United Nations and NGO community! I've developed my dream job!
Wild, right?
I created the Arts Envoy Lab because I am on a mission to build an army of international artists, storytellers and content creators who can create for the planet...AND GET PAID!
Our world is in serious crises and we need all hands on deck...and I believe art can do so much more to help create a more equitable and sustainable planet!
So, I created the Arts Envoy Lab - for experienced creators and those who are just starting out - who want to travel, be creative and do good for the planet!
